 Synopsis of Parkson Corp.

Parkson is a supplier of equipment and solutions for potable water, process water, and industrial and municipal wastewater applications. Parkson designs, engineers, and assembles the products it sells into the municipal wastewater and industrial wastewater segments. The Company was founded in 1960 and has been owned by Axel Johnson Inc. since 1967.

Axel Johnson Inc. (AJI) is a private family company with roots dating back to 1873. AJI seeks to identify, acquire, and build companies that offer the potential to earn attractive returns on the owner’s capital as well as the opportunity to make a positive contribution to society. All of the company’s businesses meet both tests.

Importantly, AJI is an owner and operator of businesses, not an investor. AJI and the Johnson family seek to build enterprise value over the long term by continuously investing in the growth and development of the companies they own. They seek management teams that share these values, that can develop a compelling vision for their company’s future, and that are motivated to build a competitive and lasting business.

While the Company is privately held by Axel Johnson Inc, headquartered in New York City, Parkson is a free standing Company and is not a division of the parent.

Parkson is poised for significant growth, both organically and acquisitively in multiple market segments.

According to Global Water, the overall global water market will grow at a rate of $15 billion/year for the foreseeable future. Parkson supplies into the critical equipment/technology/solutions segments of this wide and rapidly expanding market. Global growth will be a critical dimension for Parkson’s future and the leadership team is focused around three emerging regions: Middle East and North Africa, India and China. In 2008, Parkson inaugurated a new office in Dubai, to better serve the emerging water/waste treatment customers in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The company primarily assembles designed components sourced from other manufacturers into system offerings and views itself as a knowledge‐based company integrating solutions to meet customer expectations. These activities have resulted in significant growth for the company in the last 10 years.

 Major Products:

Aqua Guard®

The Aqua Guard® is an in-channel, self cleaning fine screen which removes troublesome suspended solids from wastewater and/or process flows. With over 2,000 installations, the Aqua Guard moving media channel screen is custom built, reliable and offers extremely low maintenance for years of trouble free operation.

Biolac®

The Biolac® Wastewater Treatment System is an innovative activated sludge process using extended retention of biological solids to create an extremely stable, easily operated system.  Biolac, when combined with other Parkson products, can achieve the most stringent effluent requirements.  It is a low energy, extended aeration system that is easy to use, operate and maintain.

DynaSand®

DynaSand® is Parkson’s registered name for its upflow, deep bed, granular media filter with continuous backwash.  The filter media is cleaned by a simple internal washing system that does not require backwash pumps or storage tanks. The absence of backwash pumps means low energy consumption.  In addition, DynaSand is easy to operate and maintain.

DynaSand D2®

DynaSand D2® Advanced Filtration System is a low cost alternative to low pressure membrane technology while producing comparable or superior filtrate quality.  The D2 system removes contaminants to levels previously thought achievable only by low pressure membranes. It is cost effective to install, and presents low operating and maintenance costs.  In addition, the D2 system offers high solids capacity and very low power consumption.

DynaSand® EcoWash™

The DynaSand® EcoWash™ Filter uses sand movement detection that is tied to an alarm and monitored in the control room. Through modifications to the airlift design and operation, consistent sand movement is assured. When the system is not backwashing, the reject line is automatically closed, dramatically reducing reject water.

Lamella®

Lamella® Gravity Settler, a Parkson registered product for over 30 years, is a solid/liquid separation system that uses gravity as a force. Parkson’s extensive experience in hydraulic design guarantees a better settling performance. Lamella occupies 10% of the usual footprint used for conventional clarifiers.  Package units are ideal for specifications ranging from 200 to 2,000 gpm per unit.

OHxyPhogg®

Low energy, in-situ proprietary odor reduction technology with minimal startup costs, no chemicals and the chance to eliminate scrubbers or significantly reduce scrubber loading. Technology relies on a patented three-fluid nozzles approach for efficient fogging and odor reduction results as well as grease reduction capabilities.

Thermo-System®

A Green Technology! Parkson’ s THERMO-SYSTEM® Active Solar Dryer has proven to be a very reliable and energy efficient technology for drying biosolids.  The THERMO-SYSTEM sludge dryer uses the sun as its main power source where 95% of the energy required for the drying process is provided by solar energy. This sustainable and CO2 neutral biosolids drying process is highly automated and therefore requires low operator attention.
